Position Summary
The Service Manager is responsible for leading the service department including hiring, training and mentoring service staff, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional development. Will also spearhead projects, define technology needs for the company, as well as, repairing and maintaining MFP office equipment at customer locations. The Service Manager oversees parts inventory and ensures junior staff are appropriately maintaining their car stock. The Service Manager must be familiar with network integration, scan implementations & setups, job accounting and developing training for staff on new technology. This position does have supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Printer, Copier Field Service Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Run Tech team meetings to review troubleshooting, repairs and or problems
  • Mentor team to develop member skill sets.
  • Recruit and hire new service team members (as needed).
  • Nurture and further develop vendor partner relationships.
  • Perform connected installations, set up IP addresses, download printer drivers and provide customer and staff training on printing/scanning functions, when needed
  • Collaborate with team (internal and external) to ensure project/ install priorities are understood
  • Ensure Quality Assurance for all set-ups, refurbs, installations and projects
  • Coordinate with dispatch to ensure overall high level of service and on-time deliveries to customers
  • Analyze data to Identify, recommend and implement new deployment and service strategies for increased customer satisfaction and service efficiency
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of staff documentation: daily work tickets, inventory reports, logs, training docs

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Printer, Copier Field Service Manager are:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Business school, Associate’s degree or equivalent is a plus
  • A minimum of 5 years’ management experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and/or equivalent
  • Product Knowledge (Kyocera or similar MFP equipment)
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Critical-thinking, problem-solving and time-management skills
  • Motivation to learn new Technology
  • Good Communicator/Listener
  • Strong comprehension of small and large format, and color production processes
  • Computer and LAN networking experience a plus
  • Detail oriented
  • Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Insurability – This position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with a minimum level of auto insurance coverage.
